Events this December in Stuttgart

Christmas markets, decorated houses and the smell of Glühwein and Christmas cookies around every corner – it must be December in Stuttgart! 🙂 I just loooove the season and when I have a look at all the fun events that are going on this December in Stuttgart, I am more than sure that you will fall in love with it, too. Here come my favorite events for non-German-speakers this month:

  • The Christmas Market in Stuttgart is open until December 23. Have you ever noticed that the town hall turns into a huge Advent Calender every December? Each day, a window will be opened, showing one of the coat of arms of the districts of Stuttgart. Along with this a choir representing this quarter will perform for free at the steps in front of the entrance.
  • How about visiting a special Christmas market this year: the Christmas tipi Wouahou at Marienplatz?! Yes, a Christmas TIPI 🙂 This Christmas market want’s to be an alternative to the traditional ones, with a more relaxed atmosphere, upcycling products and open-air baking events. It is open until December 10.
  • If you’re into ice skating, visit the ice rink of Wintertraum at Schlossplatz. This mini Christmas Market within the Christmas Market is even open until January 1.
  • Get away from the usual hustle around Christmas and dive into the enchanted Christmas Garden at Wilhelma until January 6. 25 light installations await you, embedded in the beautiful setting of the botanical garden. Shop for locally produced Christmas decoration, made with products from the forest, try culinary highlights from the forest and take home with you the one or other self-made Christmas decoration.
  • Laugh the night away at English Comedy Night with stand-up comedian Jack Holmes at Climax Institutes on December 8.
