Did you know one of the best gins worldwide stems from Stuttgart?! GinSTR have won the gold medal of the Word-Spirits Award and the gin and tonic trophy of the IWSC in London. Fun fact: STR is the code for Stuttgart airport.

A Spätzle-Shaker is also a fun present for a cook. It makes cooking Spätzle (the famous Swabian noodles) much easier.

Stuttgart wouldn’t be Stuttgart without the “Kehrwoche”, the ritual performed by thousands of households every week 🙂 So how about introducing your friends or family to this lovely tradition? Wouldn’t a Kehrwoche sign be a wonderful present? 😉

A great gift package for men is the Speick Men Active Set. Speick is a company for natural cosmetics based in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, close to Stuttgart. Globally unique, all Speik products contain the harmonising medicinal properties of the Speick extract from a high alpine medicinal plant. Even though Speick is well-known here in the area for some generations (my grandma always had soap bars from Speick), it is still an insider tip for everybody outside of Germany.

You’re looking for a present for children? Then I can recommend the lovely Wimmelbücher “Stuttgart wimmelt” and “Die Wilhelma wimmelt”. The child doesn’t need to speak German as these are picture books!

Stores for kids

Here come my favorite stores in Stuttgart when you are looking for fun presents for your little ones:

Spielwaren Kurz
Sporerstraße 8
Spielwaren Kurz is THE institution for toys in Stuttgart when you ask me. Growing up here, going to Kurz was always a special treat. When you’re looking for top quality, this is where you want to go.

Motchis
Vogelsangstraße 42
Motchis is one of my favorite shops here in Stuttgart. The owner picks every single item for a reason and it shows. At Motchis they sell really beautiful stuff, from toys to decoration and event strollers. I never manage to leave without buying something.

1000schön
Eberhardstraße 10
1000schön is a lovely store that sells all sorts of fun toys.

Riceteria
Schulstraße 8
Riceteria is the most colorful store I’ve ever been to 🙂 They sell all sort of fun things for kids and grown-ups who are young at heart. I have bought a wonderful box that was shaped like a little house here for my godchild. Fun fact: Riceteria is also a café!

And then you also have the big stores where you can buy toys like BabyOne (Heilbronner Str. 391), Baby Walz (Königstraße 43B) and myToys (Königstraße 1).

I hope this list of fun last minute Christmas presents helps you to finish your Christmas shopping. And remember, in the end it’s not the presents that make Christmas the great event it is. Have a wonderful Christmas time my friends!

Gift certificates

How about treating your loved ones to a special something in Stuttgart this Christmas? Here come some ideas for gift vouchers:

Spa time
We have so many wonderful mineral baths and spas here in Stuttgart (find out what are my favorite ones here) and one of my favorite Christmas present is a gift certificate for a number of free entries at Minteraltherme Böblingen.

Another wonderful spa is Mamaspa in downtown Stuttgart (you can go there if you’re not a mama, too :-D).

Sport time
VfB Stuttgart is our major soccer club. If you want to make a VfB fan happy, how about a voucher for their Fanshop?!

How about having a fun time jumping up and down with your loved ones? Then a voucher for a visit to Sprungbude for trampolining is a great idea this Christmas!

If your loved ones like to climb or boulder a gift certificate for Kletterzentrum Stuttgart at Waldau will make them happy.

Movie time
The Corso is the only cinema in Stuttgart that shows nothing but movies in the original version. They do gift coupons, too 🙂

Exciting time
I looove Exit games! It is so much fun solving quiz after quiz with your friends while the time is ticking. The best know operator of Exit Games in Stuttgart is ExitGames Stuttgart.

Animal time
Kids love the Wilhelma. So how about a gift voucher for a visit to the fun zoo/botanical gardens for the little ones on Christmas?! To learn more about Wilhelma, check out this post about one of my visits.

Of course there are SO MANY more fun things you can give away this Christmas. These is just a small selection of my ideas for Stuttgart themed Christmas presents. If you came up with something else that you just loooove, please share it in the comments!
