Hi guys! Do you sometimes stand in front of your wardrobe and wonder where this mass of cloths comes from? If you want to do some clearing up but your old cloths are too good for the trash bin, I know the perfect place where you can donate them for a good cause.

Is your wardrobe full of cloths you’re sick of? Can’t you fit in your new dress anymore? Or are you moving and want to get rid of some old cloths before so you don’t have to take them with you? That’s how my friend Rachel and I felt a few weeks ago. So we sorted out what we want to keep and what we want to get rid of, put all the old cloths in boxes and brought them to Zora gGmbH, a nonprofit company that runs two second-hand stores in Stuttgart – one for adults and one for kids.

Zora (the store for cloths for adults) and Zorella (the store for kids) is a nonprofit company that employs women that don’t find jobs on the first labor market. Thus the employees find a way out of social isolation and can earn qualifications for other jobs in the future. Definitely a great and important concept.

Next to cloths you can also donate other things like toys and board games for kids, books, plates, cutlery and all sorts of household goods. Obviously everything should be in good shape and not broken.

You can hand in your donation either at Zora or Zorella, the lovely ladies there will sort out what belongs to which store. And if you give them your name and address you will receive a donation receipt in th coming year that you can hand in with your tax declaration.

I have brought countless boxes to Zora already and I always feel great afterwards: On the one hand I am rid of old cloths, on the other hand I love that they don’t end up as trash but will be worn by someone else. So if you feel like a spring-cleanup – or if you have to move soon and want to get rid of some of your old stuff – why not pay Zora and Zorella a visit?!
