While most people visit the Weindorf in the evening, I went there for lunch last week and had a great time at Weindorf 2015. The good thing about visiting this event during the day is that it’s not as crowded as it is in the evening and you find a seat at every Laube (stand) you wish.

My friends and I went to the Schillerplatz, next to the Old Castle. I have to admit it was quite tricky to find vegetarian dishes but we finally sat down at “Die Württemberger”, Laube No. 4. I had Kaiserschmarn (pieces of pancake) with apple sauce and my friends went for Käsespätzle (cheese noodles). While my meal was not too big, their Käsespätzle were huge and came with a side salad.

As it was during the day, we had “Neuer Süßer” –  fermented grape juice that thus contains less alcohol – instead of real wine .

As on every food festival, prices are quite high, but I like the relaxed atmosphere at Weindorf 2015 , and I can totally recommend going there during the day!
