If I had to summarize the events that await us this July in Stuttgart in one word it would be “Festivals”! So many fun outdoor events await us this month, better cross your fingers for eternal sunshine 🙂

  • Visit the fun Afrika-Festival between July 6 and 8 and enjoy the colorful program! Concerts, food stands, workshops and more await you.
  • Stuttgart-West celebrates! At the alternative street festival Westallee between July 12 and 14 you can enjoy urban art and live music and kids will be entertained with a special program.
  • Between July 12 and 22 the Hamburger Fischmarkt is in town. The best address to enjoy fresh seafood from one of the many stands at Karlsplatz.
  • The Jazz Open are a musical highlight in Stuttgart every year. Between July 12 and 22. you can enjoy various concerts at Schlossplatz, for example Lenny Kravitz or Jamie Cullum. But you better be quick – tickets sell out quickly. But don’t worry if you don’t get a ticket for your favorite act anymore: Even while sitting on the grass at Schlossplatz or on the stairs next to Kunstmuseum you can enjoy the music! 🙂
  • Stuttgart celebrates the Christopher Street Day between July 13 and 29! On July 13 there will be a big opening event at city hall, the big parade through town will take place on July 28. Spread the love!

  • Very sad: Fluxus, the great alternative shopping passage at Stadtmitte will close this month! 🙁 But they won’t go without a big bang: the Fluxus Closing Party on July 14!
  • One of Stuttgart’s most beautiful festivals is Lichterfest at Killesberg. This year you can enjoy the light installations and the fireworks on July 14.

  • A colorful and very international festival is Sommerfestival der Kulturen between July 17 and 22 at Marktplatz. Clubs and bands from many different cultures come together and organize this amazing festival each year, since 2001. You can try food from all around the globe, listen to live bands and shop at the Market of the Cultures.
  • You like Indian movies? Than you will love the 15th Indian Film Festival which will be held this July in Stuttgart between the 18th and 22nd. And there will also be an amazing supporting program with music and dance presentations, art and craftwork exhibits and typical Indian food and drinks.
  • The Bohnenviertel (which translates to Quarter of the Beans :-)) with it’s narrow, old streets is one of the most charming areas in Stuttgart. Thus the annual Bohnenviertelfest is a street festival you don’t want to miss. So mark the days starting July 19 up to July 21 in your calendar.
  • And another street festival: Marienplatzfest is on between July 19 and 22! Marienplatzfest is on this July in Stuttgart
  • If you’re up for a special experience, music-wise, you should visit Der Sommer in Stuttgart between July 19 and 22. This festival celebrates New Music, Performances, Theater out of different perspectives and performed at different locations. Definitely something for open-minded music lovers.
  • A special event for all fans of world-famous Stuttgart Ballet is Ballet in the Park! Grab your friends, a picnic blanket, a bottle of champagne and enjoy the live broadcast from the opera house to a screen at Schlossgarten on July 21 and 22!
  • Same idea, but not ballet but opera this time: On July 24 you can visit Opera at the Lake and enjoy the live broadcast of “I Puritani” in front of the beautiful opera house for free.
  • Olé! Enjoy Spanish dance and music at Flamenco Festival between July 27 and August 4! Olé!
