Sneak Peek: This will be new on living-in-stuttgart.com

Hi guys! It’s been a bit quiet the last days on living-in-stuttgart.com because I am working on a relaunch. Find out what will be new on the blog and let me know what you would like to find here in the future!

My blog living-in-stuttgart.com has been around for some years, actually since 2012. A while ago I got the feeling that it’s time for a change. In the last couple of weeks I’ve been working on a new layout and already changed the main menu (maybe you’ve noticed that already :-)) A friend of mine who is a designer is creating a new logo for the blog as we speak and as soon as it is ready I will launch the new website. I am sooo excited! I really hope you will like it as much as I do. 🙂 Here’s a sneak peek for you:

I am also planning to offer some new topics and services on living-in-stuttgart.com. For example: I get a lot of personal messages from you guys asking me about how hard it is to find a flat or house in Stuttgart, how the public transportation system works over here, where you can buy this and that and so on. So I want to include the new category “moving to Stuttgart” where I will answer these questions and more.

Moreover, I would love to offer some relocation services for newcomers. I think it might be helpful for expats and everybody who moves to Stuttgart from abroad to have a local at hand who can show them around, tell them the tricks about living in Stuttgart and helping them to settle down. So I’m working on some kind of “Welcome Walks” and other relocation services at the moment. And I thought about offering food tours and some day trips to great locations around Stuttgart.

But these are all ideas and plans at the moment. Before I go any further I would LOVE to know your opinion.

  • What do you want to find on living-in-stuttgart.com in the future? Is there something you’ve missed so far?
  • What do you like about the blog and what don’t you like?
  • When it comes to services: What kind of tours, walks or services would be interesting for you? In what would you participate?
  • And what would have helped you when you moved to Stuttgart? Or if you’re moving here in the near future: What kind of support do you need?

Please share your thoughts, ideas and wishes in the comments. Even if you’re usually a “silent” follower, please leave a reply anyway. It would help me a lot in improving living-in-stuttgart.com and making it an even greater source of information!

Thank you very much for your time and support!! I appreciate it a lot.

All the best, yours Mel

  1. Hi! Congratulation! To start with the last question, I think your blog in english helped me when I moved here (a few months ago), especially the montly articles with Events that are hapening that month.
For the future, I would definetely join “Welcome Walks” and day trips in/around Stuttgart, like a trip to Liechtenstein Castle, Ritter Museum, Porsche or a wine tour. Most things I do here on my own, maybe because I think is more dificult in Stuttgart (than in the previous city I lived) to find people like-minded to travel and go to events.

    • Thank you very much 🙂 It’s great to hear that the posts are helpful to you! And great that you’re mentioning Lichtenstein Castle, that’s exactly one of the destinations I had in mind. It is SO beautiful, right? And actually just around the corner. And wine tours are a great idea, too. I also thought about including the “Besenwirtschaften” in Stuttgart, mini restaurants owned by local, mostly private, vineyards that are only open a few weeks a year. Have you ever been to a “Besen”?
