It’s sad. It really is. But isn’t it always the same in life? Good things come to an end. And maybe, some things just feel that great because you know they are not there forever? I don’t know if that’s the reason why I liked the café/bar/event location they turned the old city library into that much.
The Wilhelmspalais was something special. – Stop! It still is something special! It’s still open till the middle of September. So don’t miss the last opportunity and visit one of Stuttgart’s most relaxed location.
I went there a few days ago with a friend of mine.
We started the evening at Academie der schönsten Künste, just a few steps away from Wilhelmspalais. Why we went there first? Because we were hungry and they don’t serve food at the Palais.
As it was still very warm, we chose to sit outside in their backyard.
The food they offer is very nice. My friend chose lamb couscous with salad…
… and I went for Tarte Flambee with goats cheese an mushrooms.
Around 8 pm we went over to Wilhelmspalais for a poetry slam event.
As the weather was nice, nobody was inside the Palais and the event took place outside, in front of the stairs.
You can sit on the stairs or, if you’re lucky and arrive early enough, on sun chairs.
I like these kind of events. So relaxed and laid back. The performances were nice. Five young poetry slammers performed their work after each other and even a little battle took place.
It’s really a shame that this might have been my last evening on the stairs outside Wilhelmspalais. There is still one concert and one exhibition taking place before they close – not to forget the big closing party on the 14th of September. I’ll try to be there!
